Paula Campos Pinto has a PhD in Sociology from York University (Toronto, Canada) and is currently a lecturer at the University of Lisbon's Institute of Social and Political Sciences, a researcher at and vice-coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies and a collaborator at the Centre for Administration and Public Policy at the same university.
Since 2013 she has also been coordinating the Disability and Human Rights Observatory, based at ISCSP, which is a platform for researchers, disability organisations and political decision-makers to monitor and implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
She has coordinated several research projects at national and international level on issues related to disability and social policies from a gender perspective and is a member of several international teams and networks, including the Disability Rights Promotion International network, which promotes the monitoring of the human rights of people with disabilities, and ANED, a European network of specialists in analysing public policies from a disability perspective, which she coordinates in Portugal.
She is the author of several works on issues related to disability, gender, inclusion, citizenship and rights, published in Portugal and abroad.
